Personal Attributes
Dr. Maynard grew up on St. Maarten, small island in the Caribbean that is half French and half Dutch. In some respects it is very similar to Conyers, Georgia, a small community where everyone knows and cares for each other. His father owned the family business for over forty years. Dr. Maynard worked there from a very young age, and this is where he developed discipline, a strong work ethic, and a solid moral and ethical foundation.

After passing on an opportunity in 1989 to play for the Atlanta Braves, Dr. Maynard returned to his first love of medicine and pursued a career in general surgery.
